Why are you looking to adopt a German Shepherd? What attracted you to the breed?
If you haven't had a Shepherd before, have you had any other large breed dog? Do you currently have other pets?
Do you live in an area where you will be able to continue socializing your puppy with other friendly dogs and people? Take obedience or other training classes?
If you live in town or on a busy road do you have a fenced yard or kennel with the fencing at least 6’ in height? (A frightened Shepherd can go over or through a 4’ fence easily). If not, is it possible for you to do either one? Have you considered what you will do for exercise and potty training if you don't have a fence? This is not a deal breaker, but we do not sell puppies to anyone who would have to permanently chain them out in their yard.
Will you, a family member or friend be able to be home to train your new puppy?
What is the size of your family? Children or grandchildren? Are you prepared to teach you children/grandchildren how to properly treat your new puppy?
How would you see yourself as a leader for your puppy? Are you a pushover or do you keep to task and are a firm, yet fair leader? How do you react to your puppy/dog pushing the boundaries?
What type of personality and character qualities are you looking for in your new puppy?
Will you spay or neuter this puppy? Why or why not?
What would your preference be, male or female?
